For Julia Gryboś and Barbora Zentková, the concept of “sculpture” blends with an event as a significant marking of the “here and now”. In a long unused building in the city centre, they organize a one-off musical performance, conceived as an initiation gesture aimed at rehabilitating the site. Hired musicians, their number derived from the overall layout of the building and the number of its rooms, are tasked with playing one instrument each of a composition, made on the basis of a transcription of the Svratka River field-recordings in Brno, for a certain duration. However, since each of the musicians is closed inside his or her room and therefore unable to respond adequately to the pace of the others, the piece gradually becomes more and more asynchronous, finally resulting in a new abstract composition.
